  • 25 Jan 2011, RHINO RELOCATES TO SOMERSET!

Posted on January 25, 2011 by admin

After four years in Chiswick, West London following the management buy-in of the business led by CEO Reg Clark and England Manager Martin Johnson in late 2006, Rhino Rugby has decided to return to the West Country and has recently relocated its sales and administration alongside its scrummaging manufacturing operations in Rooksbridge, Somerset.

Technical Director Anthony Locke takes over as Managing Director of Rhino Rugby, and he is joined by new recruits Lynne Ford,  Sarah Lorimer and Natalie Gilbert in the new office in Mendip Business Park.  Rhino’s long serving and popular Sales Manager Tarryn Coetzee worked her final month in the new offices before emigrating to Sydney, Australia in January.  We wish her well.

Reg Clark, who will continue to operate from the West London premises of the parent company Rhino Sport & Leisure Ltd,  comments: “it makes a lot of sense for us at this stage of our development, with new ventures in leisurewear/fashion, teamwear and artificial turf occupying a great deal of time in our head office, to consolidate all aspects of our core business – scrummaging machines, contact and training equipment for rugby – onto one site. Anthony Locke has been managing the manufacturing of our scrum machines in Rooksbridge for over 10 years now, in addition to being Technical Director, and he is the natural choice to take over the overall running of this part of Rhino’s business."

To celebrate the move and wish farewell to Tarryn, 12 Rhino manufacturing and administrative staff enjoyed the hospitality of Bath Rugby at their home fixture with Leeds in early January. The brand’s longstanding Official Supplier relationship with Bath, which goes back over 20 years, can hopefully only be strengthened by the proximity of the new operations.
