Rugby Expo 2010 yesterday announced rugby’s 20 most influential people following extensive polling ahead of the event and of delegates over two days. Rhino was proud to be represented on the list by both CEO Reg Clark and current England Manager Martin Johnson, who together led the Management Buy-In of Rhino in late 2006.  Kevin Roberts, from Sport Business Group, said, “The list of the top 20 most influential people in rugby has been designed to be a fair reflection of how people feel in the industry about the individuals that make the biggest decisions about the game as it was voted for by some of the biggest names in rugby. The next 12 months in the rugby world is going to be very exciting and we are all looking forward to seeing who makes the list next year. Congratulations to everyone who made the top 20.”

SPRINGBOKS UNVEIL NEW RHINO DICTATOR IN CAPE TOWN

The Springboks today unveiled their new Rhino Dictator scrum machine to the press in Cape Town. Following its purchase by the South African Rugby Union, Rhino agreed to 're-livery'the machine into Springbok green and SARU's sponsor SASOL alongside the usual Rhino branding. Springbok forward coach Gary Gold, coach Pieter de Villiers and scrum advisor Os du Rand posed for the press alongside the machine. The Dictator is also the current scrum machine of choice of the British & Irish Lions and the England, Wales and Scotland national squads.

Rhino is hoping to follow up this flagship sale with a re-launch of our brand into the South African market - the company’s original 'Powerhouse' roller-style machine is still much in evidence in clubs and schools around the country as we had a lot of early success in selling this model there in the 1980's. As we all know, Rhino machines do last forever!

  • 18 Apr 2008, Dictator Machine help Wales to Grand Slam win

Posted on April 18, 2008 by admin

All at Rhino send their congratulations to Wales on achieving a second Grand Slam in four years.

The Wales scrum did not take a backward step in the 6 Nations tournament and as usual we are not backwards in coming forward to claim some of the credit as Official Suppliers to Wales of their contact equipment and scrummaging machine.

Wales conceded only two tries in the tournament, an astonishing achievement, having honed their defensive skills with the aid of our hit shields, tackle bags and other contact equipment, and as usual Wales used their Rhino Dictator machines to good effect in preparing for their excellent scrummaging Performance.

Wales Forward Coach Robin McBryde commented: "Obviously there are many different contributory factors to winning season and a winning team and I would like to acknowledge our satisfaction with Rhino's scrummaging machines and contact training products. The performance of our scrum and our defensive record on the way to the Grand Slam speaks for itself in this respect".

    Cambridge

With three weeks to go to the Varsity game Cambridge coach Tony Rodgers decided that his pack needed to sharpen up their scrummaging. Having consulted Phil Keith-Roach of Rhino, Cambridge decided to purchase a Dictator scrummaging machine to help their final preparations for the game. In front of a crowd of 35,000 they won a thrilling 22-16 victory over the more fancied Oxford side. In particular the Cambridge dominance of the scrum was noticeable and a key contributory factor in their win. A lesson for all!
