The British & Irish Lions recently staged a  promotional press launch and lunch in Hong Kong exactly one year ahead of the historic fixture against the world famous Barbarians invitational side which will kick off the Lions tour to Australia next year. The game will take place on June 1st 2013 and 200 guests joined Lions Tour Manager Andy Irvine and Chairman Gerald Davies at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong, and legendary Wallaby captain John Eales to set the scene for the game.

Rhino Rugby were guests of the Lions as Offcial Suppliers of both training equipment and training and commemorate balls to the tour.  Rhino CEO Reg Clark took the opportunity to showcase RhinoGB’s sensational ‘Union Jacket’ which looks set to become a firm favourite with many of the Lions supporters on the tour.

Earlier the same day Rhino Rugby launched its designs for the tour ball together with Andy Irvine at a press conference.

  • Rhino Visits Rugby Legend in France.

Posted on August 15, 2011 by admin

Richie Gray, Pierre Villepreux & Reg ClarkRhino Collision King inventor Richie Gray and CEO Reg Clark recently visited the Georgian national side whose pre Rugby World Cup camp kicked off at 2010 French club champions ASM Clermont Auvergne. The Georgians, guided by former Scotland coach Richie Dixon, took delivery of two Collison Kings and Gray took the opportunity to coach the Georgians on the use of the machine at the same time as demonstrating it to ASM’s highly rated New Zealand coach Vern Cotter and Scottish Team Manager, Neil McIroy.

The visit also provided the opportunity for Richie Gray to renew acquaintance with French rugby legend Pierre Villepreux at his nearby birthplace of Pompadour. Pierre’s influence on the game goes way beyond his 34 caps as a fly-half and fullback for France between 1967 and 1972 and his role as assistant coach to the national side in the late 1990’s. A long standing proponent of free running rugby, Villepreux, now a senior advisor to the IRB, despite having famously described the ruck as a ‘failure’ throughout his coaching career, nevertheless was enthusiastic about the Collision King as a coaching aid designed to make players more efficient at recycling the ball quickly from the breakdown.

The Collision King from Rhino Rugby

Reg Clark, CEO of Rhino Rugby, with Richie Gray, inventor of the Collison King

The Collision King, a unique aid in rugby training from Rhino Rugby, is featured in The Scotsman this week.

"Reg Clark, CEO of Rhino Rugby, said: "The key to the development of this training aid is that it has been invented by a rugby skills coach with an outstanding knowledge of skill acquisition. The brilliance of The Collision King is in its simplicity - it is a machine that every player, back, forwards and sevens alike, will benefit from using. In my opinion there has never been a rugby training aid like it."
